Valley temperatures expected to drop slightly this week

The Las Vegas Valley will experience a “gradual cool down” from the triple-digit temperatures it saw over the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

The high for Monday reached 97 degrees, 3 degrees above normal, meteorologist Jim Harrison said, and 7 degrees cooler than Sunday.

It was still warm, but not as warm as the weekend and it might be a while before temperatures again reach 100 degrees, Harrison said.

The projected highs for Tuesday and Wednesday are in the mid-90s and could even dip into the mid-80s on the weekend, Harrison said.
