1 killed in fiery, single-vehicle crash in Summerlin

Updated August 21, 2020 - 5:49 pm

A California man died in a fiery single-vehicle crash in Summerlin on Friday morning, Las Vegas police said.

Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the scene at Alta and Sky Vista drives, north of Charleston Boulevard, at 9:42 a.m. after reports of a car on fire, police spokesman Aden OcampoGomez said.

Investigators believe a 2010 Acura TSX driven by a 30-year-old man from Fresno sped through a stop sign while going west on Alta before he jumped a median and a sidewalk and crashed into a block wall, according to a statement from Metro on Friday evening.

The man died at the scene. He will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office pending notification of kin.
