2 people injured after a pair of shootings

Metro’s gang unit is investigating a pair shootings that injured two on Sunday morning and may be related, according to Las Vegas police.

The first call came in shortly after 10 a.m. to the 5100 block of Tropicana Avenue, Metro Lt. John Liberty said. A person whose gender and age were not immediately known, was shot in the foot. That person was taken to Sunrise Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

About an hour later about 11:20 a.m., police were called to a second shooting in the 6100 block of Boulder Highway, about two miles away. An underage male was shot multiple times in the leg area, Liberty said. He was also taken to Sunrise Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Liberty later said the shootings were related, and gangs were involved. Metro’s gang unit was investigating.

No suspects had been arrested as of Sunday afternoon. Liberty said the people who were shot were not being very cooperative.
