Man killed during meeting to sell computer near Summerlin

Updated April 9, 2020 - 9:47 pm

Las Vegas police say a man was shot and killed Thursday morning during a purchase that was organized online.

Homicide detectives were called to a residence on the 8400 block of Shady Shores Circle, near Rampart and Lake Mead boulevards, after Metropolitan Police Department officers at about 9:20 a.m. found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, the agency said.

Homicide Lt. Ray Spencer said the victim was a man in his 30s. The Clark County coroner’s office will release his identity.

The victim had set up a transaction with three other people to buy or sell a computer, and he was shot during the transaction, Spencer said. The group of three fled in a black SUV that was found at a nearby convenience store. Two people were arrested and one person remained at large.

Metro said later on Thursday, in an emailed news release, that a suspect was heard arguing with the man before the shooting.
