Joey Logano wins Daytona 500

Joey Logano won the Daytona 500 on Sunday to capture NASCAR’s season-opening Sprint Cup race.

It’s the first time Logano has won the 500.

“I can’t believe it. This is amazing. Daytona 500, oh my God,” Logano said.

Jeff Gordon, who led the most laps in what he had said would be his final Daytona 500, finished 33rd after a last-lap crash.

Defending champion Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished third.
