A 47-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized in critical condition Monday evening after a crash in the northwest valley, but police said he was expected to survive.
Just after 5 p.m., the motorcyclist, identified by the Metropolitan Police Department as Jason Heidecker of Las Vegas, was heading north on Buffalo Drive on a 2008 Harley-Davidson, according to police. As Heidecker was approaching Caliche Way, a southbound 2017 Dodge Challenger driven by a 32-year-old man turned left onto Caliche, entering the motorcycle’s path.
Heidecker was taken to University Medical Center, although Metro Lt. Brian Boxler said Monday evening that he was talking before he was taken to the hospital.
Boxler initially identified the other involved vehicle as a Chevrolet Camaro.
The crash remains under investigation, Metro said.
