Rothwell calls heavyweights who turned down dos Santos fight ‘cowards’

“Big” Ben Rothwell wants to prove he’s a heavyweight title contender by defeating the division’s top five. His quest continues when he confronts Junior dos Santos, who has struggled as of late, in the main event of UFC Fight Night Croatia.

Rothwell (36-9) claims a lot of UFC heavyweights turned down the opportunity to fight Junior dos Santos (17-4) in Croatia before he got the call. He also discusses his rise in the division, why he’s not really interested in fighting Cain Velasquez right now, and insinuates how new drug testing procedures have changed the way some heavyweights perform.

The no. 4 ranked competitor intends to prove he should be next for a title shot with a win over the former UFC heavyweight champion. On Apr. 10, Rothwell will lock horns with dos Santos in the main event at Zagreb, Croatia.
