March 3, 2015 - 4:44 pm
Las Vegas police shut down traffic on Boulder Highway between U.S. Highway 95 and Lamb Boulevard Tuesday afternoon in connection with a stabbing that occurred early in the day.
Police said officers were engaged in a vehicle pursuit with a suspect in the stabbing, which was not fatal.
Officers attempted to stop the fleeing vehcile using the Precision Intervention Technique, or PIT, to disable it, but the maneuver was unsuccessful.
Officers had to close the road to document the incident, which is treated as a use of force, police said. The road reopened at about 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The chase began after a woman was stabbed just after 7 a.m. at 50 21st St., near Fremont Street and Charleston Boulevard.
The woman was transported to the hospital with serious, nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.
Investigators are still seeking the person thought to be responsible for the stabbing. No suspects have been identified.
