Pleasant Las Vegas Valley weather turning chilly by week’s end

Sunny skies, light winds and temperatures slightly above normal are forecast the Las Vegas Valley.

The high on Monday was 87. The overnight lows are expected to range from 56 to 61, with northwest winds of up to 10 mph.

Tuesday is expected to be a few degrees warmer, with a high of 92, 5 to 7 degrees above the normal for the date of 85. Winds are set to be up to 10 mph.

A cold front will work its way into the valley Wednesday night or Thursday, dropping the high temperatures from Thursday through the weekend into the upper 60s and low 70s, said National Weather Service meteorologist Trevor Boucher.

Wind gusts could reach 30 mph in the valley, and overnight lows will drop into the 40s as the cold front arrives from the north.
