Clark County Commission to pick 2015 leaders Monday

Clark County commissioners will have their first meeting of 2015 on Monday.

Typically, they meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month. But in odd-numbered years, the first meeting under state law is the first Monday after New Year’s Day.

That’s also when newly-elected commissioners get sworn into office. Commissioners Chris Giunchigliani, Susan Brager and Mary Beth Scow were all re-elected in November to four-year terms. It’s the third term for Brager and Giunchigliani; and it’s Scow’s second term.

The commission also will pick a chairman and vice chairman. Currently, the chairman is Steve Sisolak and the vice chairman is Larry Brown.

The commission will meet at 9 a.m. at the County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway, Las Vegas.
