2 crashes causing major traffic delays on I-15 and Sahara

Two simultaneous accidents on northbound Interstate 15 just north of Sahara Avenue are causing traffic delays Monday afternoon.

The crashes happened at 1:15 p.m. in nearly the same location, according to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chelsea Stuenkel.

The 3-vehicle accident and 2-vehicle accident blocked both center lanes of northbound Interstate 15 between Sahara Avenue and Charleston Boulevard for a half-hour, but have since been moved to the shoulder, Stuenkel said.

Cameras are showing traffic moving slowly through the area at about 1:40 p.m.

It was not immediately known if anyone was injured in the crashes or what caused them, Stuenkel said.
