Updated June 2, 2019 - 7:22 pm

One person is dead and two others are critically injured after a suspected DUI crash Sunday morning in the central valley.

Shortly after 4 a.m., a 2018 McLaren 570S speeding southbound on Pecos Road near Tropicana Avenue lost control, left the road and crashed into a 2000 Toyota Camry that was parked at a nearby strip mall, according to a Metropolitan Police Department release.

A 39-year-old man was the only occupant of the Camry and was sitting in the passenger seat. He died at the scene.

The driver of the McLaren, 29-year-old Stanley Butler of Washington, D.C., was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with serious injuries. Police said Butler showed signs of impairment. He was arrested on charges of DUI resulting in death, DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm and two counts of reckless driving resulting in death or substantial bodily harm, jail records show.

The passenger, a 29-year-old man from Temple Hill, Maryland, suffered critical injuries.

The Clark County Coroner’s office will identify the man who died after his family is notified. This crash marked the 50th fatality Metro has investigated in 2019.
