2 people rob Henderson credit union at gunpoint

A Henderson credit union was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday morning, and the two robbers are at large.

Two men armed with handguns entered the Silver State Schools Credit Union branch, 9302 S. Eastern Ave., near Serene Avenue, just before 10 a.m., Henderson police spokesman Scott Williams said.

One suspect pointed a handgun at the bank employees while the other suspect demanded money. The two men were handed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene in an unknown vehicle. No one was injured, the Police Department said in a statement.

The two suspects are believed to be two white men. The first suspect, in his 50s, is approximately 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and has gray hair. He was last seen in a dark-colored baseball cap, a ski mask, white shirt and dark pants. The second suspect, who is in his 20s, is approximately 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was wearing a white button-down dress shirt and a dark tie. His ski mask was white and he wore a gray beanie.

The credit union will be closed Tuesday, and regular business hours will resume Wednesday, according to its website.

The Henderson Police Department can be reached at 702-267-4911 with any information, or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 to remain anonymous.
