4 hit while giving aid at crash in northeast Las Vegas
Two back-to-back crashes in a northeast Las Vegas Valley intersection sent four people to the hospital early Monday.
The first crash happened about 1:50 a.m., when a Ford pickup truck and two other vehicles collided at Cheyenne Avenue and Lamb Boulevard, according to Metropolitan Police Department Lt. David Gordon. The pickup took off but was found a short distance away, although the driver remained at-large as of 9 a.m.
One person involved in that crash was taken to a hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Six minutes after the first crash, four passersby were struck by a car while helping those involved in the crash, according to Metro spokeswoman Alejandra Zambrano.
Three of them were taken to University Medical Center with survivable injuries, police said.
The intersection reopened shortly after 6 a.m.
