2 in critical condition after North Las Vegas crash

Updated December 1, 2018 - 3:17 pm

Impairment is suspected in a crash Saturday morning that left two drivers hospitalized with critical injuries, North Las Vegas police said.

Just before 7 a.m., a silver pickup truck and red SUV collided in the intersection of Craig Road and North Fifth Street, sending both involved drivers to University Medical Center. Both drivers were in stable but critical condition, police spokesman Eric Leavitt said at 2 p.m.

The SUV driver, who Leavitt said appeared to be in “worse shape,” is suspected of causing the crash after running the northbound Fifth Street light at Craig Road.

Charges against the SUV driver are pending results of blood tests, Leavitt said.

The intersection was partially closed for several hours Saturday morning during the investigation.
