Looking for a way to get into the holiday spirit this year? Here are some events around the valley that can help get you in the mood.
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
The Ice Rink at Boulevard Pool is open 3 p.m.-midnight Mon.-Thu. and noon-midnight Fri.-Sun. (opens at 8 p.m. Nov. 28; open daily noon-midnight Dec. 21-Jan. 6). A light snowfall occurs every 30 minutes from 7 p.m. to midnight Fri.-Sun. (on Wed.-Sun. from Dec. 21 to Jan. 6). All-day skating is $20, with $10 for locals and military with ID Mon.-Thu. Admission to the winter wonderland surrounding the rink is free. Date Skate Mondays and Tuesdays feature classic holiday films at 7 p.m. through Jan. 1. Downtown Summerlin
The holiday parade starts at 6 p.m. Fri.-Sat. through Dec. 22 on Park Centre Drive. The Santa Chalet is located in Macy’s Promenade through Dec. 24. Photo packages start at $24.99. Pet photo nights are 7-9 p.m. on Tuesdays through Dec. 18. The Rock Rink is located near the Pavilion on The Lawn at Downtown Summerlin, 1980 Festival Plaza Drive. Hours vary. Fashion Show mall
The “Believe in the Magic” holiday show is at noon, 2, 4 and 6 p.m. daily Fri.-Sun. and Dec. 24 in the Great Hall at Fashion Show mall, 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Photo opportunities with Santa are offered through Dec. 24 in the Neiman Marcus Court. “‘Twas the Light Before Christmas,” a new hologram holiday experience created by Cinimod Studio, is on display through Jan. 10 on the upper level across from Dick’s Sporting Goods. thefashionshow.com
Galleria at Sunset Mall
Photo opportunities with Santa are offered daily through Dec. 24 with pet photos nights on Tuesdays. The Lower Plaza will feature snowfall 6-7 p.m. Fri.-Sat. and 5-6 p.m. Sun. through Dec. 23 at 1300 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Local elementary and middle school students will be caroling throughout the mall in December. Santa Cares, a senory-friendly visit with Santa, will be 8-10 a.m. Dec. 9. Glittering Lights
Featuring more than 3 million lights on a 2.5-mile course through Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 7000 Las Vegas Blvd. North. In November, open 5:30-9 p.m. Sun.-Thu. and 5:30-10 p.m. Fri.-Sat. and holidays. In December, the attraction opens at 5 p.m. Vehicles are $20-$30. Holiday Cactus Garden
Ethel M’s 3-acre cactus garden is decorated for the holidays and viewable from sundown to 10 p.m. daily through Jan. 6 at Ethel M Chocolate Factory & Botanical Cactus Garden, 2 Cactus Garden Drive, free admission. ‘Santa’s Wonderland’

Sam’s Town

Tivoli Village

‘The Holiday Experience at The Park’

Winter’s Village

The District
The Grand Menorah Lighting event, presented by Chabad of Henderson, will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 4. The event will feature live music, entertainment, dreidels, free doughnuts and treats for kids. The Linq Promenade
Starting Dec. 1, “Holiday Magic” features a winter wonderland with candy-themed decor and entertainment daily at 3545 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Carolers perform holiday songs 6-9 p.m. Mon.-Wed. and a modern-take on “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” is performed at the top of the hour from 6 to 9 p.m. Thu.-Sun. through Dec. 31. thelinq.com
Bellagio Conservatory
Starting Dec. 1, guests can enjoy a Christmas scene at the 14,000-square-foot botanical gardens at the Bellagio. The display will feature festive topiaries as well as a 42-foot White Fir tree and runs until Jan. 6. bellagio.com
Downtown Container Park
Brunch with Santa will feature breakfast, photos with Santa, cookie decorating, hot chocolate and more, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 1 and Dec. 8 at 707 Fremont St. Tickets are $15 for ages 12 and younger; $35 for all-you-can-eat breakfast at downtowncontainerpark.com
Global Winter Wonderland
Lcoated at the Rio, the holiday lantern festival will feature giant eco-friendly lanterns depicting a Christmas holiday village and landscapes from around the world, including the Taj Mahal and Eiffel Tower. Global Winter Wonderland will also include carnival rides and games, international cuisine, arts and crafts, photos with Santa, entertainment and more. The attraction will be open 5-11 p.m. Dec. 14 to 23, Dec. 26 to 30 and Jan. 2 to 20; and 4:30 – 11 p.m. Dec. 24, 25, 31 and Jan. 1. Magical Forest
Opportunity Village’s holiday attraction and fundraiser is open 5:30-9 p.m. daily through Dec. 31 (to 10 p.m. Dec. 21-22, Dec.-28-29; closed Christmas). Featuring the Forest Express Passenger Train, Cheyenne’s Enchanted Carousel, the Blizzard Mini-Coaster, entertainment, photos with Santa and more at 6300 W. Oakey Blvd. Tickets are $10-$12. Lakes Festival of Lights

Winterfest
Henderon’s annual celebration opens with the tree lighting at 6 p.m. Dec. 7 at Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water St. The festival will feature kids’ activities, a gift and craft fair, gingerbread house contest, food vendors, entertainment and more, 6-9 p.m. Dec. 7 and noon-5 p.m. Dec. 8 in the Water Street District. Christmas Town

The Springs Preserve’s Holiday Express will offer train rides to Santa’s Village on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Dec. 7 to 23 at 333 S.
