Wind, cooler temps expected in the Las Vegas valley

Temperatures this week in Las Vegas will hover below normal but should rise as the weekend approaches, according to the National Weather Service.

Sunday’s temperatures topped out at 73 degrees. A 69-degree high and 49-degree low are forecast for Monday. Winds could blow between 15 and 25 mph Monday, after winds reached speeds of 33 mph at McCarran International Airport on Sunday.

Wind speeds will calm down by Tuesday afternoon as temperatures begin to climb to a forecast 72 degrees. According to the weather service, a respective high and low temperatures will be 75 and 58 on Wednesday, 76 and 59 on Thursday, and 79 and 60 on Friday.

The average high for this time of year is about 82 degrees.

It will be mostly sunny this week, and there is no rain in the forecast, the weather service said.
