Annual Ice Cream Sunday returns to Providence

Make your day sweeter with free ice cream during the annual Sunny 106.5 Ice Cream Sunday on Sept. 16. The free, family-friendly event is free is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Huckleberry Park in Providence in northwest Las Vegas.
In addition to the frozen treats, courtesy of Meadow Gold, there will be kid-friendly activities and ice cream-eating contests, food trucks, a variety of booths, and the Sunny 106.5 team will be on-site with prizes, like tickets to Legoland California, SeaWorld San Diego and iHeartRadio Music Festival Daytime Stage tickets. The kids’ activities include petting zoo, face-painting, inflatables, water balloons, pinatas and relay races.
Attendees can enjoy Huckleberry Park’s multiuse events field, full-court basketball, swings, picnic area and shade ramada. Well-behaved leashed pets are welcome, and they can play in the venue’s large and small dog parks.
In honor of the ice cream theme, here’s a few fun facts about one of America’s favorite treats from various sources:
