Hit-and-run leaves pedestrian in critical condition

A pedestrian is in critical condition after a hit-and-run crash in the southwest valley Saturday morning.

The pedestrian, a 27-year-old man, was struck by a car near Jones and Gunderson boulevards while walking outside of a marked crosswalk just after 5 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Metropolitan Police Department. The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center’s trauma center.

The driver, 25-year-old Clement Lam, fled the scene, but police found his 2012 Subaru Impreza at his home address, the release said. He returned to the scene of the crash in a different vehicle, showed signs of imparment, and was arrested, police said.
