Nevada Highway Patrol car struck in hit-and-run in Las Vegas

No one was injured when a Nevada Highway Patrol car was struck in a hit-and-run crash Monday evening.

The crash happened just after 5 p.m. near U.S. Highway 95 and Summerlin Parkway, Highway Patrol spokesman Travis Smaka said. An orange coupe fled the scene after the crash, he said.

Highway Patrol officials later said the car that hit the trooper’s vehicle was a Chevrolet, possibly a Cobalt.
