1 dead in rollover on 215 Beltway in North Las Vegas

Updated May 1, 2018 - 12:43 pm

A man died Tuesday morning after he was ejected from his truck that rolled over in North Las Vegas, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Investigators determined that the driver was speeding west on Interstate 215 when his Chevrolet pickup truck rolled over just east of Losee Road. The 47-year-old man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the truck after impact and pronounced dead at the scene, investigators said.

Highway patrol trooper Travis Smaka said speeding and the wet roads were factors in the crash. The Las Vegas Valley saw at least 0.04 inches of rain after midnight Tuesday, mostly in the west and northwest parts of the valley.

The Clark County coroner’s office will identify the man after his family has been notified.
