Editors note: each week we’ll pick five players for a Nevada Preps Player Of The Week poll. Voting will begin Monday morning and end at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Here are the Nevada Preps Player Of The Week nominees for Week 3 of Nevada high school football.
— Chaparral quarterback Santiago Vialpando was nearly flawless on Friday night. He finished the game 13 of 18 for 300 yards and four touchdowns in his team’s 50-0 win over Eldorado.
— Bishop Gorman quarterback Tate Martell passed for 178 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 111 yards and another score in the Gaels’ 35-20 win over St. John Bosco (California).
— Bonanza running back Ricardo Hill scampered for three first-half scores and finished with 238 yards on 20 carries in a 42-8 win over Western on Friday night.
— Chaparral wide receiver Kentrell Petite was equally as impressive as his quarterback on Friday night. He hauled in seven receptions for 208 yards and four touchdowns in Chaparral’s 50-0 victory over Eldorado.
— Shadow Ridge running back Elisha Young needed just five carries to make his mark on Friday night. The junior running back finished with 161 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a 65-14 victory over Valley.
