Friendly Ford welcomes arrival of redesigned Expedition

There is no question that Ford Motor Co. knows how to create excitement. One week after the unveiling of the 2018 Mustang, the fever continued with the arrival of the 2018 Expedition sport utility vehicle at Friendly Ford.

The latest version of the popular Expedition has been redesigned both inside and out. An all-new class-exclusive 10-speed automatic transmission with Select Shift capability and tow/haul mode is now available, and so is the all-new high-strength aluminum-alloy body with its redesigned high-strength steel frame.

The new intelligent four-wheel-drive-selectable Terrain Management System features up to seven drive modes, along with a Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package that includes new electronic limited-slip rear differential.

The package is highlighted with the new Pro Trailer Backup Assist combined with integrated trailer brake controller and trailer sway control.

The family-oriented 2018 Expedition also includes a 110-volt/150 watt AC power outlet, a 360-degree camera with split-view display and front-rear camera washers, among a long line of impressive features.

The Expedition is available in the XLT, Limited and Platinum models with either two-wheel or four-wheel drive. With its longer wheelbase, the vehicle now has an additional 16.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seat with room for eight.

Veteran sales consultant Larry Davis sold the first 2018 Expedition.

“Ford really delivered with this one,” said Davis, adding that the 2018 Expedition also includes smart features such as forward sensing system, lane keeping system and pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection.

“In my more than 17 years of the car business, Ford has generated some of the best-ever cars and trucks. The unveiling of the 2018 Expedition carries on with the excitement.”

The 2018 Expedition is powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine with direct injection, which has resulted in the most powerful Expedition ever.
