1 squatter dead, another injured in North Las Vegas fire

One person was killed and another hospitalized in critical condition after a Tuesday morning fire in North Las Vegas, police said.

The fire occurred about 9 a.m. on the 2000 block of Las Vegas Boulevard North, near East Lake Mead Boulevard, North Las Vegas police spokesman Aaron Patty said.

Patty said the two victims were squatters in the building.

The Las Vegas Fire Department is assisting the North Las Vegas Fire Department in the investigation.

No other details were immediately available.
