Sandoval signs emergency order in wake of Las Vegas shooting

Updated October 2, 2017 - 6:49 pm

CARSON CITY — Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval on Monday signed a Declaration of Emergency for Clark County following the mass shooting on the Las Vegas Strip.

Through this order, Sandoval has directed all state agencies to supplement the local efforts to save lives and protect the health and safety the victims of the attack that killed 59 and wounded more than 525.

Sandoval also declared a Public Health and Medical Disaster, which temporarily suspends all necessary statutes and rules to allow health care providers from other states to practice in Nevada.
