Nevada still has third-highest gasoline prices in US
When it comes to gasoline prices, Nevada is still third-highest in the nation.
While Nevada’s average gasoline price is down 13 cents since last month, according to AAA’s fuel gauge report released Tuesday, Nevada’s average gasoline price registered at $2.44 per gallon for unleaded regular.
Reno has the highest gasoline price in the state, with a cost of $2.65 per gallon for unleaded regular, while Carson City has the lowest, at $2.31 a gallon.
The national average price for regular unleaded gasoline is $2.12 per gallon, the lowest price for Aug. 9 since 2004.
Cynthia Harris, an AAA Nevada spokesperson, predicts that without major natural disasters or geopolitical tensions overseas, gasoline prices should remain steady throughout the rest of the summer and into the fall, because of high gasoline supplies and low oil prices.
AAA’s fuel gauge report has more than 100,000 self-serve gasoline stations surveyed daily nationwide and is released monthly.
