UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson will defend his belt against Ray Borg after all.
The title bout has been rescheduled as part of the UFC 216 card on Oct. 7 at T-Mobile Arena, according to several published reports.
UFC officials confirmed the news to the Review-Journal on Wednesday.
Johnson has the opportunity to break the all-time record for consecutive successful UFC title defenses, a mark he shares with Anderson Silva at 10.
The bout was to headline UFC 215 in Edmonton, Alberta, last week, but Borg pulled out less than 48 hours before the event because of illness.
Johnson said he was hoping the fight would be rescheduled no later than UFC 216. He will get his wish.
UFC 216 already includes an interim lightweight title fight between Tony Ferguson and Las Vegan Kevin Lee. The bout order has not been finalized.
The card also features a heavyweight bout between Derrick Lewis and former champ Fabricio Werdum, along with a women’s flyweight bout between Jessica Eye and Paige VanZant.
