New details released in Henderson couple’s deaths

New details of what police initally believed to be a March murder-suicide in Henderson that left two people dead were released Saturday by the Clark County coroner’s office.

The Henderson Police Department officially ruled the deaths of Holly Ann Guillen, 54, and Andres Guillen, 55, a double suicide after the coroner completed the autopsy reports. Their bodies were found March 23 on the outskirts of the southern Las Vegas Valley. A passer-by stopped to help Andres, who was prone in the desert, police said.

It was unclear for more than five months who was believed to have killed the other.

Andres died of a gunshot wound to the chest, the coroner’s office said. He also had a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head, but county coroner investigator Priscilla Chavez confirmed that the gunshot wound to his chest killed him. Chavez added the self-inflicted wound likely occurred before the shot to his chest.

Holly Ann’s death was ruled a suicide, Chavez said. She also died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
