McCarran introduces suites for breastfeeding moms in Las Vegas

Nursing mothers can now privately feed their infants at three new suites spread across McCarran International Airport, officials said Wednesday.

Vermont-based Mamava manufactured the mobile lactation pods, which are equipped with fold-down tables, electrical outlets for breast pumps and a lock for the door, airport spokeswoman Christine Crews said. The 4-foot by 8-foot pods are meant for individual use, but more than one person could fit if a mother is traveling with multiple children.

With August being National Breastfeeding Awareness Month, airport officials said they found it appropriate to open the three new suites near Gate E-9 in Terminal 3, near the children’s play area in the D-Gate Satellite Concourse and on the skybridge connecting the airport’s C Concourse with the A and B Gates.
