Manziel cited for expired plates near Cleveland airport Saturday

Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel was cited for driving with expired plates on his vehicle on Saturday, a Cleveland-area television station reported.

North Olmstead, Ohio, police pulled Manziel over at 8:28 a.m. Manziel can avoid appearing in court if he pays the $125 fine before Jan. 21.

Manziel, according to WOIO-TV, was pulled over just miles from Cleveland Hopkins Airport. The second-year quarterback reportedly spent part of the weekend in Las Vegas and did not show up at the Browns’ facility in Berea, Ohio, as part of his concussion protocol before Sunday’s final game.

Manziel was seen at the Browns’ facility Saturday morning and did appear on Monday for exit interviews.
