Ford Motor Co. has unleashed a bold new style with the unveiling of the 2017 Explorer XLT now available at Friendly Ford.
The seven-passenger sport utility vehicle is impressive inside and out with body-color door handles, dual chrome exhaust tips, LED signature lamps and fog lamps, silver-painted front/rear skid plate elements and XLT badging on the liftgate.
The Explorer XLY is available with the 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V-6 with 290 horsepower or the optional 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4 with 280 horsepower.
Ford also has improved its 2.3-liter EcoBoost with added horsepower and torque and available Class II trailer tow package that offers 3,000 pounds maximum towing capacity. Both the standard and optional power packages are available with Intelligent four-wheel-drive with Terrain Management System.
Available in front-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive, the Explorer also features a new XLT technology feature bundle with auto-dimming sideview mirror, Blind Spot Information System with cross-traffic alert and voice-activated touch-screen navigation system.
Standard features also include intelligent access with push-button start, reverse-sensing system, SecuriCode invisible keypad and sync with 4.2-inch center-stack screen.
Available options include dual-zone electronic automatic temperature, forward-sensing system, hands-free, foot-activated liftgate, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, inflatable outboard second-row safety belts, perimeter alarm, remote start system, second-row bucket seats and twin-panel moonroof.
“This is very popular and, in fact, Ford is expecting its biggest gains in the SUV market,” said dealership new truck manager Matt Cavaness. “The Explorer XLTs have great passenger room, and they are also very versatile, so they have great cargo carrying capacity.”
The 2017 models have been out for about four months and the response has been strong.
“The 2017 Explorers have been flying off the shelves since they arrived,” Cavaness said. “Las Vegas is one of the strongest truck markets in the nation.”
Located at 660 N. Decatur Blvd., Friendly Ford opened in 1970. The dealership is a 17-time winner of the prestigious President’s Award, Ford’s highest single honor for customer satisfaction.
