It led to a 2011 Review-Journal investigation that spurred major reforms within the Metropolitan Police Department and modeled by departments around the country. A Las Vegas police officer was shot and critically injured late Monday as police attempted to take protesters into custody. He was identified Tuesday afternoon as 29-year-old Shay Mikalonis.

Trevon Cole - Cole, 21, was unarmed when he was shot and killed by Detective Bryan Yant on June, 11, 2010.
Stanley Gibson - Gibson, 43, a Gulf War vet, was shot and killed by Officer Jesus Arevalo on Dec. 12, 2011.
Tashii Brown - Brown, 40, died in police custody on May 14, 2017. Officer Kenneth Lopera was charged in his death, but the charges were dropped.
