Less than two weeks after submitting his resignation, CCSD Superintendent Jesus Jara sent a copy of written remarks for his yearly “State of the Schools” address — which was canceled last month — to the school board.

The teachers union has asked a court to force the district to turn over records after an X account under Jara’s name called a union official a “mistress.”
Clark County School District Superintendent Jesus Jara’s annual address focuses on achievements and challenges for the nation’s fifth-largest school district.
He will begin his position again Monday and said he plans to work “day and night” to recenter the district’s focus on student safety, mental health and “unfinished learning.”
The Clark County School Board and audit advisory committee held a joint meeting Monday to hear a report from auditor Eide Bailly LLP and approve the district’s responses.
As one of his final acts as Clark County School District superintendent, Jesus Jara tells trustees he plans to grant base pay hikes for 16 members of his Executive Cabinet.
