Young, 51s top Sidewinders
Delwyn Young hit a go-ahead two-run triple in the seventh inning, carrying the 51s to a 10-6 victory over the Tucson Sidewinders in Pacific Coast League play Wednesday night in Tucson, Ariz.
Young later scored on Choo Freeman’s double-play grounder in the seventh, making it 8-5, and finished with three runs and three of Las Vegas’ 18 hits.
The 51s added two runs in the ninth on Freeman’s RBI single and Luis Mata’s sacrifice fly. The Sidewinders threatened in the bottom half, scoring a run and loading the bases, before Matt Riley closed out the game.
Las Vegas travels to Sacramento to begin a five-game series tonight.
