UNLV Football
PROVO, Utah — UNLV has had some bad losses throughout the 43-year history of its football program.
It might sound crazy today — you know, fresh off an embarrassing 55-7 loss to a Brigham Young football team best described as dead-flat average — but it wouldn’t be in UNLV’s best interest to stop playing the Cougars.
PROVO, Utah — Redshirt freshman Caleb Herring took most of the snaps Saturday, but UNLV’s offense still appears to belong to senior Omar Clayton.
The Cougars outgained the Rebels 516 yards to 144 in a Mountain West Conference game in Provo, Utah.
UNLV makes perhaps its final visit to Brigham Young on Saturday, hoping to create a memory that’s nearly as good as the Rebels’ first trip to Provo, Utah. UNLV rallied from 17 points down to beat the eighth-ranked Cougars 45-41 in that 1981 game, still the highest-rated opponent the Rebels have defeated.
