UNLV’s Blok, Alexander, 400-meter relay qualify for spots in NCAA track finals

UNLV had two individuals and a relay team qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at the NCAA West Preliminary in Austin, Texas.

MyShauna Alexander took ninth in the javelin (160 feet) to advance, and Emily Blok had the 11th-best time in the 200-meter dash (23.65 seconds). Blok also teamed with Uchechi Anunkor, Ashley Franklin and Monay Meggs to take 10th in the 4×100 relay.

Oklahoma freshman Avione Allgood, a Legacy High School graduate, also qualified by taking second in the javelin (171-7).

The NCAA meet is June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore.
