HAH, TRICKED YA!

Move over Bob Arum, there’s a new “Master of Trickeration.”

With UNLV facing a fourth-and-3 situation near midfield late in the third quarter, coach Mike Sanford sent out his punting unit. Only Dack Ishii never kicked it away to Wyoming. Instead, he passed to a wide open Jerriman Robinson for 19 yards and a fresh set of downs.

Hey, when you’re 4-6 and playing at home, why not reach into the ol’ bag of tricks?

The Rebels were on the verge of scoring when the third quarter came to an end. UNLV is third-and-goal at the Wyoming 1 as the fourth quarter gets under way.

Frank Summers went in off right tackle in the first play of the fourth quarter as the Rebels have regained the lead, 15-14. They went for two points but failed to convert.

HA-HA

The announced attendance Thursday was 18,154. Obviously, that was supposed to be for Saturday’s UNLV basketball game with San Diego. Hey, nothing like getting the jump on things.
