Pill roughed up early as 51s drop opener at Reno

Las Vegas starter Tyler Pill surrendered seven runs on five hits and didn’t get out of the first inning as the 51s suffered a 12-2 loss in the opener of a four-game Pacific Coast League series at Reno on Friday.

Pill lasted 2/3 of an inning and fell to 2-6 on the season.

Danny Worth had three hits and drove in five runs for the Aces (47-53).

T.J. Rivera drove in both Las Vegas (57-43) runs with a double in the fifth inning when the 51s were trailing 10-0. Brandon Allen and Wilfredo Tovar each had two hits for Las Vegas.

The series continues at 7:05 p.m. today.
