Welterweight George Sullivan pulled from UFC on Fox 20 for potential USADA violation

Another UFC fighter has been pulled from a card as a result of a possible violation of the organization’s anti-doping policy, though he has not failed a test.

Welterweight George Sullivan voluntarily disclosed to the United States Anti-Doping Agency that he may have been out of compliance with the policy and he has been pulled from Saturday’s UFC on Fox 20 card, the organization announced in a statement Thursday.

“Out of an abundance of caution, Sullivan has been removed from his scheduled bout on Saturday night against Hector Urbina while USADA conducts an investigation into the matter,” the statement read. “Urbina will still weigh in as a potential backup opponent should there be a need for him to compete in another bout on Saturday. Otherwise, he will be re-booked for another card in the near future.”

Over the last few weeks, superstars Jon Jones and Brock Lesnar have both been flagged by USADA for potential violations of the UFC’s anti-doping policy.

Featherweight Chad Mendes was also banned two years on Wednesday for a test that was conducted in May.
