INTERNET ONLY: Malone fuels Durango volleyball sweep of Bonanza
Durango’s Markie Malone had 27 assists and nine kills in the Trailblazers’ 25-18, 25-12, 25-12 volleyball victory over visiting Bonanza on Monday.
Durango’s Hayley Spelman had 20 kills, and Jordan Nitz added 16 digs. Christin Figgins led Bonanza with 11 digs.
At Rancho, Chyna Layug’s 11 kills and four blocks helped Chaparral to a 25-12, 25-18, 25-17 win.
Shelley Conannon added seven kills and Shannon Walling had six kills and seven assists for the Cowboys.
At Canyon Springs, Charna Mokiao dished out 17 assists in the Pioneers’ 25-16, 25-9, 25-14 victory over Valley.
Kaloku Kahalepo added 10 kills and three aces for Canyon Springs.
At Spring Valley, Brenna Becker had 10 kills and 10 digs to help the Grizzlies down Western, 25-22, 17-25, 25-18, 25-15.
Ann Dastrup had 32 assists for Spring Valley, and Kelsey Swanson added 15 kills.
Michelle Simon had 10 kills for Western, and Megan Riggs supplied eight kills and 18 assists.
At Desert Pines, Cassie Lindsay compiled 27 assists in Las Vegas’ 25-4, 25-19, 25-12 victory.
Franky Marshall had eight kills for the Wildcats, and Danica Pickett served seven aces.
At Foothill, Breanna Mason registered 13 kills in Sierra Vista’s 25-19, 25-8, 18-25, 25-23 victory.
Jessica Mojica added 28 assists and six aces for the Lions.
Jessica Stevenson had six kills and four blocks for Foothill.
