Only one Rebel managed to break par Tuesday at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters, and UNLV is tied for ninth place in the 15-team field. UNLV’s Redford Bobbitt, playing as an individual, has a share of the individual lead with Alabama’s Robby Shelton at 8-under 136.

Shriners Open gets new director

Patrick Lindsey has been selected to replace Adam Sperling as tournament director of the Shriners Hospitals for Children golf tournament. Lindsey, 34, has spent the last 10 years working in golf management, including overseeing the PGA Tour stop at Doral Country Club in Miami.

Tiger Woods suspension allegations not true, agent says

PGA officials and Tiger Woods’ agent denied Monday that Woods has been suspended by the tour. Woods was last seen on the course early in February when he withdrew during the first round of the Farmers Insurance Open. On Feb. 11, he said he needed to take a break to deal with the issues in his game.
