Blackburn pitches, slugs Sacramento to victory over 51s

Clayton Blackburn shut out the 51s for seven innings and hit a solo home run as the Sacramento RiverCats claimed a 4-2 Pacific Coast League victory Wednesday night at Sacramento, Calif.

Blackburn allowed five hits and struck out five. His home run came with one out in the third inning to give Sacramento (47-58) a 2-0 lead.

The RiverCats scored two more runs in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Kelby Tomlinson and an RBI single by Ryan Lollis before Las Vegas (59-46) finally got to the Sacramento bullpen.

Danny Muno scored on a Darrell Ceciliani triple with one out in the eighth, and Johnny Monell followed with a sacrifice fly as the 51s cut the lead in half.

Mike Broadway struck out the side in the ninth to record his ninth save for the RiverCats.

Sacramento scored first with a solo home run by Adam Duvall to lead off the second inning. It was his 26th of the season.

Muno had two hits for Las Vegas.

The teams have split the first two games of the four-game series, which continues at 7:05 p.m. today.
