Oddities abound for World Series prop bets

Odds to win the Series; odds on the number of games it will take to win the Series; odds on the Series MVP; over/unders on stolen bases, sacrifice bunts, home runs, etc.

All the usual suspects, with the exception of Keyser Soze, are listed.

Also listed are World Series prop bets, which run the gamut from the ridiculous to the sublime. Or just ridiculously sublime.

To wit:

* Odds a home run breaks the fountain at Kauffman Stadium: 600-1

* Odds a home run breaks the apple at Citi Field: 1000-1

* Over/under on number of replay reviews: 4.5

* Odds a player or manager gets ejected: 22-1

* Odds there is a brawl with at least one punch thrown: 99-1

* Odds it snows: 100-1

Fan props:

* Odds a fan runs onto the field: 9-1

* Odds a fan streaks onto the field: 100-1

* Odds a fan parachutes into the stadium: 2000-1

* Odds a streaking fan arrives via parachute: 5000-1

Broadcast props:

* Over/under on Fox promos for non-sports Fox television shows: 20.5

* Over/under on number of times the broadcast cuts to shots of fans in costume on Halloween: 8.5

* Over/under on the number of times Fox shows the New York skyline: 9.5

* Over/under on the number of times Fox shows George Brett: 5.5

* Over/under on the number of times the Mets’ 1986 championship is referenced: 13.5

* Over/under on the number of times the name “Buckner” is mentioned: 4.5

* Over/under on the number of celebrity sightings during the World Series: 15

* Odds there is another “moment” with Rob Manfred/Erin Andrews during trophy presentation: 500-1

I believe a lot of these prop bets are for entertainment purposes only. But I’d only put the odds at around 10-1. The odds we’ll see another round of FanDuel and DraftKings spots on an endless loop are probably way shorter.
