Horse Racing, Hollywood Park, June 24
Today at Hollywood Park
Post Time 1 p.m.
Race 1 – 1 1/16th miles, Purse $20,000, Claiming $10,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
1 Living Our Dream – First off the claim by Mike Mitchell; he only wins at 32 percent, very dangerous in this weak spot.
3 Katy’s Kitty – Battled with the favorite last time out; third start off a short layoff, she likes the Inglewood surface too.
Long Shot – 6 Saint Cindy
Race 2 – 6 furlongs (turf, rail at 10 feet), Purse $55,000, Optional claiming $62,500, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
1 Caribaya Queen – With the turf rail out 10 feet, this speedball will be sent from the wood; catch her to win it.
2 Jet Blue Girl – She has not a drop of early speed, but she does have Rafael Bejarano; expect his win percentage to skyrocket.
Long Shot – 5 Dypsy
Race 3 – 7 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Claiming $12,500, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
5 Miss Oops – There are a lot of small fields today so you better get used to it; mare was claimed in 3 straight races.
4 Kalk Bay – Sliding down the claiming ladder to this career low class; won for Mike Mitchell in last and is dropped again.
Long Shot – 3 Woodman’s Lass
Race 4 – 6 furlongs (turf, rail at 10 feet), Purse $52,000, 3-year-olds and up
1 Octane – Tries turf for the first time, but it’s pretty firm in Inglewood right now; tactical speed to sit a good trip.
6 A Toe by Three – Ran well in last off a 8-month hiatus; speed to lead or follow the leaders up close.
Long Shot – 7 Lakerville
Race 5 – 6 furlongs, Purse $29,000, Claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
4 Ambitoness – Reclaimed by Robertino Diodoro, one of the strongest trainer angles in racing; back class to run big again.
3 Rossi Reserve – Like that Vann Belvoir puts her in a soft no claim position; she has won 6-of-15 starts so she can run some.
Long Shot – 6 Candy’s Pleasure
Race 6 – 6 furlongs (turf, rail at 10 feet), Purse $50,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
1 Wild Truffles – In turf sprints in Inglewood, you notice I prefer inside posts; that’s because of a tight elbow turn from the chute.
2 Eileen’s Dream – Logical chalk off a solid turf sprint last time; she figures to be the speed of the speed in here.
Long Shot – 8 Creditcardroulette
Race 7 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $52,000, Optional claiming $40,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
5 Egg Drop – Mike Mitchell liked her so much he shipped her to Keeneland for a grade 1; didn’t work out, so they regrouped a while.
6 Jaredella – After 6 seconds in a row, she finally won; the angle here is sometimes a light goes on and they can win right back.
Long Shot – 1 She Spirit di Su
Race 8 – 1 1/4 miles (turf, rail at 10 feet), $100,000 Beverly Hills Handicap, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
4 Capital Plan – This could be the last Joel Rosario win in SoCal for a while; he is going to NYRA full-time and return for some stakes.
2 Cambina – Dead late closer has run in 9 straight grade 1 and 2 stakes; subtle class drop but this spot is no gimme either.
Long Shot – 5 Imperialistic Diva
Race 9 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $50,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies, 2-year-olds
2 Ella Bea Awesome – Did everything but win last time for Doug O’Neill; slight improvement can get her photo taken.
4 Tribal Peace – FTS from John Sadler barn has been working well; David Flores may gain some business when Joel Rosario leaves.
Long Shot – 3 Girl On the Lam
Best Bet – 5 Egg Drop (race 7)
