2 Da Ruler – Bob Baffert is willing to sacrifice this colt to gain an edge in the trainer race; 90 percent is enough to win it.
1 Adriatic Moon – Finished out of the money at Del Mar for the first time last out; can make amends in a much easier spot tonight.
Long Shot – 11 Gold Medallion
Race 2 – 6 furlongs, Purse $32,000, Maiden claiming $40,000, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up
7 He Makes It Rain – Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; showed solid improvement in second start.
9 My Slew – Claimed by Peter Miller last January at Santa Anita; adding blinkers on and returned to the races when it really counts.
Long Shot – 12 Wild Side Story
Race 3 – 6 furlongs, $85,000 C.E.R.F., Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
3 Reneesgotzip – Regrouped to win a simple allowance last May; she is undefeated 3-for-3 wins in 1-turn sprints.
6 Candrea – Bob Baffert is eyeballing Peter Miller in the trainer title race; could be these two dueling down the stretch.
Long Shot – 5 Pink Lollipops
Race 4 – 7 furlongs, Purse $70,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies, 2-year-olds
9 Sacred Delight – Tried to overcome a difficult start to no avail; was absolutely flying at the end, a good start makes it easier.
2 Sophie’s Secret – Gave it the old college try in debut and ran a bit short; John Sadler babies improve with racing experience.
Long Shot – 8 Boller Bomb
Race 5 – 1 mile (turf), $100,000 Oak Tree Juvenile, 2-year-olds
5 Power Broker – Twice beaten favorite remains a maiden in this stakes; suspect can improve again at a square price.
6 Shining Copper – Logical chalk was dead game in victory last out; has good tactical speed to sit a nice trip.
Long Shot – 2 Forest Boy
Race 6 – 6 furlongs, $85,000 Pirate’s Bounty, 3-year-olds and up
12 Sinai – Bob Baffert has so many live bullets on the card tonight; this colt has underachieved but has the ability to pull and upset.
10 Mensa Heat – Tepid chalk in a wide open affair; claimed two back by the Doug O’Neill barn, he ran a strong race to Coil last out.
Long Shot – 8 Comma to the Top
Race 7 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $45,000, Claiming $32,000, 3-year-olds and up
2 Bet On Victor – Was spotted nicely in last to get a confidence booster win; he has the back class to repeat or even improve beyond that.
8 Palio Prince – Just missed in this same class last time; it was his first race in 3-months, he could improve a step tonight.
Long Shot – 4 Deadly Catch
Race 8 – 7 furlongs, $300,000 Del Mar Futurity, 2-year-olds
5 Know More – Won the Best Pal prep as a FTS; he is green as grass but has tremendous talent and has a very high ceiling.
3 Switch to the Lead – Filly avoided Executiveprivilege by running here against the boys; huge rider switch to Julien Leparoux.
Long Shot – 2 Capo Bastone
Race 9 – 1 mile, Purse $70,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
3 Stanwyck – Dead late closer was grossly overbet in last at 6/5 chalk; may be favored again, but should be a slightly better price.
6 Chestnut Moon – Was flattered when Lady Ten won next time out; been away since April, but exits a bullet work for Jim Cassidy.
Long Shot – 4 Readyforhercloseup
Race 10 – 1 1/16th miles (turf), Purse $71,000, Optional claiming $40,000, 3-year-olds and up
3 Quail Hill – Edwin Maldonato puts him on the lead in a potential paceless race; could cap off a terrific meet for this rider.
9 Valley Cat – Reclaimed by Peter Eurton, one of the best trainer angles in racing; dead late closer will be flying late.
