3 Unstopper Topper – Chance to be lone early speed for Rafael Bejarano; he has a big lead for leading rider at Del Mar.
6 Woodmans Luck – Dead late closer should be rallying fastest of all last; big rider switch to Mike Smith.
Long Shot – 4 Corner Office
Race 2 – 1 mile, Purse $25,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
4 Tiz Lovely – In a no passing zone race, having the lead can be a huge advantage; goes as far and as fast as she can.
10 Stormin Cee’s – Adding blinkers on and taking a large class drop for Mike Machowsky; must overcome a parking lot post.
Long Shot – 8 Zambra Mora
Race 3 – 1 1/16th miles (turf), Purse $71,000, Optional claiming $80,000, 3-year-olds
2 No Silent – Monster class drop from O/C $80K to O/C $40K; should be able to carve out a nice trip from an inside post.
6 Ransom Canyon – Dead late closer figures to sit in arrears early; Garrett Gomez likes to lay back and make a quarter-mile brush.
Long Shot – 4 You Know I Know
Race 4 – 6 furlongs, $150,000 I’m Smokin, Cal-breds, 2-year-olds
5 Ballard Ruler – Flattered when 2 horses he beat won next out, Life a Riley and Fighting Hussar; could have a nice upside.
4 Strong Wind – Sharp winner of the Graduation last out; exits a career best so the notion is moving forward or bouncing slightly.
Long Shot – 6 The Humancomplaint
Race 5 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $70,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, 2-year-olds
5 Gervinho – FTS from Carla Gaines; she was highlighted in a SoCal report that a couple of her horses tested positive.
3 U’narack – FTS from the maestro Jerry Hollendorfer; after a modest meet, the barn has been heating up this final week.
Long Shot – 7 Star Rocker
Race 6 – 1 mile (turf), $100,000 Oak Tree Juvenile, Fillies, 2-year-olds
7 Speedinthruthecity – Was scratched from the Del Mar Debutante for this easier spot; has the pedigree to adore the grass.
3 Wishing Gate – Upset winner last out despite a tough trip; beat many of these last time in a MSW heat.
Long Shot – 6 Allshewrote
Race 7 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $70,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, 2-year-olds
8 Torreys K T M – Typical green debut, he didn’t appear comfortable early, but flew late; square price on a horse who should improve.
7 Ethnic Dance – FTS from John Sadler barn; has shown some quick works, your edge is being able to see the tote board activity.
Long Shot – 4 Winninrulz
Race 8 – 6 furlongs, Purse $71,000, Optional claiming $40,000, 3-year-olds and up
3 High Test – Didn’t run a step in last in an awful effort; reunited with Garrett Gomez, should fire fast in the late stages.
5 Guidopanzini – Loses his rider Garrett Gomez to the chalk; Corey Nakatani is an able replacement, has good tactical speed.
Long Shot – 10 Macho Dorado
Race 9 – 1 1/16th miles (turf), $250,000 Yellow Ribbon Handicap, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
8 Go Forth North – Did everything but win the John Mabee is a solid try; she likes Del Mar turf and is cutting back in distance.
9 All Star Heart – Would like her more except for a parking lot post from the chute; consistent sort seldom runs a bad one.
Long Shot – 6 Byrony
Race 10 – 6 furlongs, Purse $70,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
11 Fly to Freedom – Improved a lot first off the claim by Peter Miller; Miller is battling tooth and nail for the trainer title.
5 Not Kidding Around – Lost to a nice filly in Quizzical last time; reunited with Rafael Bejarano for the money shot.
Long Shot – 3 Puff Pastry
Race 11 – 6 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Claiming $16,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
5 Never Shea Never – When I see a top jock like Garrett Gomez riding for a trainer I never heard of, there’s usually a good reason.
4 My Diane – Sliding down the claiming ladder to this career low class; has not run since the first week of the meet.
