Post Time 2:05 p.m.
Race 1 – 5 furlongs, Purse $44,000, Maiden claiming $80,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds
5 Bares Tripper – FTS from the hot Peter Miller barn; exits a bullet workout at Betfair Hollywood and gets Garrett Gomez.
1 Cassandra Lynne – FTS from the rail is among many in here that all look the same; your edge is you’ll see the tote board action.
Long Shot – 6 Catrageous
Race 2 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $36,000, Maiden claiming $50,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds
6 Serious – Could be a Peter Miller daily double with two FTS; of course. both would be ridden by Garrett Gomez too.
4 Fraudulentfootnote – FTS from Mike Pupye has been working fast; much mystery in the first 2 races with mostly non-starters.
Long Shot – 7 Divas and Diamonds
Race 3 – 1 mile, Purse $36,000, Claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
5 Inner Groove – Ran for a $20K price tag two races ago, and won; class relief from a NoCal stakes in last.
2 My Friend Gail – An interesting ship and win horse from Dallas Keen; last time she ran for a $20K price tag, she won also.
Long Shot – 7 Really Elegant
Race 4 – 5 furlongs, Purse $73,000, Optional claiming $62,500, 3-year-olds and up
7 Lakerville – Barry Abrams wheels him right back in 7-days after a powerful win; if he’s in top form, why not run him back?
8 Close to the Edge – Claimed from Kristin Mulhall after a good second; has high cheese and will fight for the early lead.
Long Shot – 2 Malibu Knight
Race 5 – 1 mile, Purse $70,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
2 Miss Communication – Mike Mitchell has an uncoupled entry so caveat emptor; this one has good speed to stretch around 2-turns.
7 Stanwyck – Typical green debut, slow early, fast late; sired by Empire Maker, this filly is worth keeping an eye on.
Long Shot – 4 My Tricky Girl
Race 6 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Claiming $16,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
2 Warren’s Performer – Closed into a fast pace two back to graduate; tried closing last out into a slow pace and couldn’t get there.
12 Hout Bay – Claimed by Vann Belvoir and spotted right back to win; has more than enough back class to handle this group.
Long Shot – 9 A Natural
Race 7 – 1 mile (turf), $85,000 Wickerr, 3-year-olds and up
5 Midnight Interlude – Bob Baffert is doing little wrong this meet; talented colt returns after a 9-month hiatus.
2 Suggestive Boy – Terrific second in the Shoemaker sandwiched by Jeranimo and Little Mike; this is clearly class relief.
Long Shot – 8 El Gato Malo
Race 8 – 6 furlongs, Purse $32,000, Maiden claiming $40,000, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up
1 Enduring Promise – Speedball takes the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; speed and the rail is good this meet.
4 Bev N Bud – Best closer in the field will be rooting for a speed duel up front; will be running over the top of horses late.
Long Shot – 2 Dr. Nip
Best Bet – 7 Lakerville (race 4)
Del Mar Sunday – Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 17/6/$29.40; Long Shots, 8/1/$9.60; Best Bet, 0/0/$0
