Antolin’s 99-yard TD return fuels Gorman to victory

The Gaels’ Keola Antolin returned a missed field goal 99 yards for a touchdown on the last play of the first half as Gorman rallied from a 33-23 deficit to beat Upland 50-33 at Valley High School.

With 0.9 seconds left in the first half, the Highlanders attempted a 61-yard field goal. The kick was caught at the 1-yard line by Antolin, who raced down the left sideline to pull the Gaels within 33-30.

The Gaels (4-0) scored on each of their first three possessions of the second half, driving 72, 83 and 75 yards for touchdowns to put the game away.

Bo Orth had three rushing touchdowns for Gorman, scoring on runs of 51, 5 and 7 yards.

Nick Lewis returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown for the Gaels.

Antolin added a 10-yard touchdown run, and Kamana Kaimikaua caught a 31-yard touchdown pass from Dylan Barrera.

The Gaels controlled the ball in the second half, running 40 plays to Upland’s 11. Upland (1-2) gained 278 yards in the first half but only 16 in the second.

• Mountain View 56, Eureka 42 — At Eureka, the Saints overcame a 30-14 first-half deficit to defeat the Vandals.

Eureka tied the game at 42 with six minutes remaining, but a 40-yard punt return by Craig Sacra set up a 5-yard touchdown run by Cortland LeBoeuf to put the Saints up for good.

Brandon Carr then returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown to seal the win.

Evan Entler passed for 235 yards and four touchdowns and had 12 tackles and two interceptions for the Saints.

LeBoeuf had 196 total yards and scored four TDs.

• Agassi Prep 50, Baker (Calif.) 14 — At Baker, Calif., Areonay Shepherd had 190 rushing yards and 150 receiving yards to lead Agassi Prep (2-1) to the victory.

• Faith Lutheran 31, Brethren Christian 13 — At Huntington Beach, Calif., Max Doane completed only two passes, but both went for touchdowns as the Crusaders improved to 4-1.
