Tracking, documentation will solve immigrant problem

To the editor:

My solution to immigration:

Let birthright citizenship apply only to immigrants with valid immigration visas. As I said before: Let them all in with proper documentation. We are all human beings and we all deserve a better life than what we have. So closing the border is not the answer.

All we need to do is simply update, modify, enforce and secure the immigration process by logging, interviewing, photo screening, tracking and documenting all visa applicants as fast as we possibly can. We can charge a more-than-nominal fee. This will create thousands of jobs, a bigger taxpayer base and we will help save thousands of human lives from being kidnapped, raped, tortured, abandoned and even murdered by cruel human traffickers.

The key to this entire solution is documentation and tracking. Now, I’m not just referring to immigrants on the Mexico border, in all fairness, this solution is for all immigrants from all approved countries. Let’s build a secured registry, not high walls.

The federal government will probably need to review the allotted number of foreign citizens allowed per country based on whatever formula is being used right now. We will also need to screen all entries against criminal databases as well as known terrorist databases or some kind of facial recognition software.

We will also need to implement a national ID card of some kind to prove that we are allowed to be in this country.

Illegal immigrants are not criminals; they are human beings in dire situations. Let’s put ourselves in their place and walk in their shoes for a mile before we pass strict judgment.

Mr. Biden opened the border. He can close the border. If he does not have the authority to close the border, then he did not have the authority to implement his first action, that of opening the border.
