The Elko Daily Free Press reported that Ronald William Rylander voluntarily withdrew his candidacy on Tuesday.

Rylander is 51. He wasn’t available for comment. He remained in the Elko County jail following his March 13 arrest near the Elko County Courthouse on a third-offense DUI charge. Criminal charges had not yet been filed.

Police said a breath test found Rylander’s blood-alcohol level was .091 percent. The legal limit for drivers in Nevada is .08 percent.
